The Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg (RCGW) has been dedicated to promoting literacy and developing lifelong readers since 1956. We have a proud history of being a literacy leader in Winnipeg and its surrounding area. We are a Special Area Group of Educators (SAGE) of the Manitoba Teachers' Society and a local council of the International Literacy Association.

As proud supporters of the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Award (MYRCA), the Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg is excited to share the 2021 MYRCA Nominees! We believe it is so important to include Canadian authors and books in school and classroom libraries, and MYRCA is one of many great ways to stay connected to the latest and greatest Canadian children's literature. Did you know that RCGW has a representative on the MYRCA selection committee? While voting for the 2021 nominees doesn't begin until March 23, 2021, you can still submit student votes for this year's nominees until June 12, 2020. Finally, we know teachers are eagerly submitting their school budget and supply requests for next school year. McNally Robinson for Kids is offering a 30% discount if your school buys a full class set (of either category or both). Contact McNally Robinson for more details! Now... on to the nominees! Sundog Nominees (Grades 4-6) Northern Lights Nominees (Grades 7-9)
